The 2024 Toyota Sequoia: A Detailed Look

The 2024 Toyota Sequoia promises a unique blend of size, capability, and technological integration. A full-size SUV, this year's Sequoia is the most advanced version Toyota has produced, making a strong statement in the automotive world.

Central to the 2024 Sequoia's performance is its exclusive electrification via Toyota's self-charging hybrid electric technology. Anchored by the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain, the vehicle boasts a twin-turbo 3.5L V6 engine and high-torque electric motors, culminating in 427 system horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. With a commendable towing rating of 9,000 pounds, the Sequoia comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Ensuring versatile performance, all models feature on-demand four-wheel-drive, balancing power distribution for efficiency and capability. Its foundation on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) F platform ensures it offers both resilience and exceptional handling.

On aesthetics, the Sequoia's design is unmistakingly Toyota. It's marked by distinct body lines amplified by grade-specific features like grilles, headlamps, and wheels. Toyota offers nine varied colours, with the notable addition of the Terra exterior shade for TRD Pro models.

Interior-wise, comfort and adaptability are key. Depending on configuration, it can seat either seven or eight passengers. Both second and third-row seats have been designed to be flexible for passengers and cargo alike. With choices of Black, Grey, and Cockpit Red for the interior colour schemes, the SUV ensures utility meets style. Technologically, the Toyota Multimedia system is conveniently accessible via a touchscreen display and voice command. This includes wireless compatibility with major smartphone operating systems and multiple connectivity options.

Safety has been meticulously addressed. The Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 suite offers a plethora of active safety technologies, from a Blind Spot Monitor System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Brake to a backup camera with guide monitor. Additional safety features include a tire pressure monitor system, hill-start assist control, and an anti-theft alarm system.

For 2024, Toyota Canada has segmented the Sequoia into six distinct grades:

  1. Sequoia SR5 TRD Off Road: An eight-passenger model, it introduces an array of features like an 8” touchscreen, 18” alloy wheels, a moon roof, and a TRD heated steering wheel.
